If a vaginal ultrasound is required, the sonographer will let you know how to change your position. There is virtually no discomfort during the test.

If a full bladder is required for the test, you may feel some discomfort when the probe is applied. The ultrasound usually takes about 40 minutes to complete. Please refrain for cell phone use or video imaging. For pregnancy ultrasounds, 3D pictures are not a standard part of the examination and are not guaranteed.
